History

Orchas's father was a member of the Atlantean Royal Guard and spent many years as one of the King's personal guards, so, when his son was born, he was immediately trained to be a fighter.

Orchas trained throughout his early years, enjoying the experience, but as he grew older, became fascinated with the stories of the legendary warriors and hunters of Atlantis. He knew his father wanted him to follow in his footsteps and join the Royal Guard, but the pressure that came from being his son was too great. He was always expected to excel at all he ever did, and even if he indeed excel, Orchas wanted more to his life than what his father intended for him, so when he graduated from Atlantis's Institute of High Learnings, he joined the Explorers and Hunters' division.

He knew his father would be upset, but this division would take him far across the seas. His father would have to learn to live with this decision.

During his time away, Orchas continued to train, choosing the broad sword as his weapon of choice, eventually reaching the rank of Master.

On one of their adventures, his group found clues to a lost sister city of Atlantis. There had been rumors of such a place, a legend that had become a bedtime story, but this had Orchas's interest. He volunteered for the search, but was disappointed when he was tasks to search near what the surface dwellers called, North America.

He searched both sides of the land continent, but the description of the area he needed to reach seemed to be inland, which to him, made no sense. How could a sunken city be inland?

As he neared the mouth of a river emptying into the sea, his instinct told him to follow it. He began to swim upstream, following the river's path, even if it seemed to be going in the wrong direction. He then reached a secondary river, and followed it.

Feeling that he was wasting his time, he considered turning back, but he was hungry and decided to feed on river fish for a change. He swam to the bottom, knowing that's where the larger ones would be, and followed a large trout that disappeared in an area covered with Algae.

Orchas swam deeper and felt an underground current pulling at him. He decided to follow it. It was an underground river. It flowed deeper and deeper under the land mass, until it opened up to a huge underground sea. And there it was, the city he had been looking for.

He could tell that no one had lived there for centuries. He searched the city until he found the King's throne room. And there he was, the King, sitting on his throne. He had died long ago, but his posture still seemed regal. He still held his sword, ready to defend his city one last time.

Orchas approached him, and picked up his sword. The King did not resist as the blade escaped his grasp, as though glad someone else had decided to take up the fight.

Orchas examined the sword. It was beautiful and majestic, and seemed to be made of an unknown metal. It was lighter and stronger than any he had ever used, and after all this time, showed no sign that it had tarnished. The blade looked as if it had just been forged. Orchas claimed it as his own.

When he returned, he was hailed as a hero. The King of Atlantis asked him to join the Royal Guard, but Orchas declined, preferring instead to join the Seaguard. Unlike the Royal Guard, the Seaguard was free roaming. Orchas preferred the open seas than to be stuck in Atlantis.

He took the name Zohreth, in honor of the King, whose blade was now his.
