The establishment was known for its casual atmosphere, but also for a special tourist attraction—a "weather rock." Although the rock was a running joke, it was believed that it could predict the weather. Tourists loved it, and Toni often found herself replacing it whenever it went missing. One day, a regular who was also a NASA astronaut, left Toni a peculiar tip: a jagged black stone. Initially insulted by the lack of cash, she was even more unimpressed when he claimed it was a moon rock from a past mission. Though he assured her of its value, Toni dismissed it as nothing more than a conversation piece and left it in the restaurant’s back room. Sometime later, when the weather rock was stolen again, Toni remembered the astronaut’s gift and decided to use it as a replacement. As she was tying the rock to the rope on the sign, she held it in her hand, looked at sky at said, "Ok, you're the new weather rock, so make it rain already." It was silly, she knew, but it had become part of her routine. It was her way of passing the mantle to a new generation of rock. She giggled as she started to turn away when, to her astonishment, a downpour instantly began. Startled, she watched with fascination. Where had it come from ? The sky was blue only moments ago. She picked up the rock and asked it if it was responsible, but the rock stayed silent. The rain continued to fall with force, and the wind started to pick up strength. Lightning flashed and thunder followed. People started to panic, as they ran for cover. Toni shouted at the rock, "If this is your doing, just stop already." And just like that, the storm died out, and the sky began to clear. Having seen the power, of this rock, she quickly untied it and brought it inside. Overwhelmed by the possibilities., she took it home and continued experimenting with it. She willed different weather patterns, and each time, the stone responded accordingly. Determined to use this newfound ability to help others, Toni fashioned a staff to hold the mysterious rock and designed a costume to conceal her identity. Thus, she became Sagitta, a weather-wielding heroine, bringing storms to criminals and clear skies to those in need. Powers Power accessory: Her staff is the source of her power. It contains a mysterious stone that enables her to control the weather. The stone, however, is not a weather stone, but a wishing stone, granting one permanent wish to the one holding it. The stone's origin is lost to time, as to how it found itself on the moon? The mystery still remains. Lightning blast: Using her staff, she can summon lightning and direct it at her targets. Flight: She can use the winds to fly at around 200 mph. Weaknesses: She is a normal human and can sustain injuries if not careful. |
