Having graduated from Princeworth University as a criminal psychology major, Bethany quickly went to work with Fortune City`s police department. However she soon realized that she wouldn`t achieve any progress by working there, giving all the bureaucracy that plagued the department. Bethany resigned and began working as a private detective. She took on many perilous cases, solving disappearances and fighing gangs. After a while she realized that she would need a secret identity in order to reach some goals that were simply unattainable under her circumstances. Bethany realizing this, decides to don the mantle of a crime fighting heroine and thus Nocturne is born. As Nocturne, she stalks the city at night, preying on would be criminals and stopping plots. During the day, she works as a private detective, investigating leads. Bethany must balance her crime fighting antics and her civil duties in order to support her superheroine acts,while also working at her father`s company. Nocturne will not only face the would be criminals, as powerful villains soon rise in the hopes of defeating the Mistress of the Night. Powers Enhanced intelligence: Bethany Hunter is easily the smartest person of Fortune City. This gives her an edge when solving mysteries during her detective work and tactical advantage when fighting crime. Her expertise in criminal psychology also gives her an advantage in deducing what her opponents might be planning. Martial arts: Having trained for years in the martial arts, Nocturne has not only mastered them, but also developed some skills thanks to it. Enhanced reflexes: By mastering the martial arts, Nocturne has developed reflexes that excel the human capability. Physical perfection: Her physical condition has reached the pinnacle of human perfection, able to withstand attacks that would end the life of normal humans. Weaknesses: Although Bethany is in top physical condition and possesses an incredibly high IQ, she is still a human. This means that while she can resist things that most humans couldn't, she is still a mortal. Nocturne has a strong psychological resistance, however, there are certain weak points that can be exploited by her opponents. These weak points are emotions and desires that Bethany has repressed and refuses to accept. Paraphernalia: Nocturne has a plethora of gadgets that allow her to overcome the odds. When Nocturne wants to take a stealth approach, she can do so by launching sleep darts at her enemies. This allows her to infiltrate places with the enemy not even noticing. If Nocturne finds herself in a tough spot, she can throw a smoke pellet, which gives her an opportunity to readjust her strategy. Her enemies won`t see her coming. A grapnel hook allows her to launch herself towards rooftops and higher places. Nocturne`s bike has been custom built to suit her needs. With the ability to go into auto pilot and having multiole gadgets attached to it, the motorbike is an essential tool. Nocturne wears a visor that gives her a tactical advantage. The visor provides useful information regarding her surroundings and enemies, giving her the necessary edge to prepare for any occasion. |
