But what most people didn't know was that he had a dark side. He was a member of the KKK. His great grandfather was the 2nd Imperial Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and his family had deep roots in the Klan. After college, Joseph enlisted in the Marines. He became an officer but after years of service, he was dishonorably discharged because he had issues with minorities. Bitter that "minorities" had gotten him kicked out of the military, he resumed going to Klan meetings and rose up the ranks. It was during this time that he learned of a "hero group" from the Klan. Hero to them but considered terrorists by the rest of the world. The group went by the name The Confederate States of America (CSA), and they were recruiting. Unfortunately for Joseph, he didn't have any superpowers. He met with Sarah Jackson, aka Southern Rebelle, to offer any help he could. She told him that with his prestigious lineage she would love to find a spot for him. She offered to run some test to see if he could be a match for something they were working on. He agreed. It turned out that one of the members of the KKK was a military man stationed at Area 51. He had managed to obtain a chemical that was said to have come from a UFO. The chemical was organic in nature and seemed to be compatible with Human DNA but they needed to test it further. Since they did not have much of this chemical, they proceeded cautiously and tested it on two promising test subjects. Their preliminary tests were encouraging, unfortunately complications arose and they died. This fact, however, they did not mention to Joseph and when his tests came back even more promising than their first two attempts, they decided to proceed with the experiment. At first, tensions were high as nothing seemed to happen. They feared they had used that last of the chemical and were not going to have anything to show from it. But then, Joseph just disappeared. As the doctors started to panic, Joseph spoke and informed them that he was all right although he was also quite invisible. It took him some time to learn the subtleties of his new ability but, eventually, he gained greater control and could render himself invisible as well as anything he held in his hands. His skills were tested further and he was sent on clandestine and reconnaissance missions until he officially joined the CSA. Powers Invisibility: He is able to render himself and any items in his hand invisible. Weaknesses: At times, certain parts of his body armor do get exposed, enabling quick-eyed opponents to glimpse him. Paraphernalia: He wears body armor under his costume including under his hood. |
