She wanted it to withstand the climates of the Great White North so she began to study the rare Red Furrowed Fox. After years of research, she developed a serum that could trick the brain into believing the host body was in hibernation. This resulted in the brain producing chemicals that increased endurance to the cold and eliminated hunger and pain. A secondary side effect of the serum was an increase in physical strength. After 3 years of waiting for the Canadian government to allow human testing, Katelyn grew impatient and took the serum herself. Things went pretty much as she had anticipated and she was granted super strength, increased physical endurance, resistance to cold and resistance to pain. However, she quickly discovered that every time she used her strength, she lost some of her intelligence, and the more intelligence she lost, the more willing she was to use her power. As she began to revel in her power, things like the betterment of man no longer mattered to her. She started to live for the now and she liked money. She caught wind of supers being in Excelsior City and was quickly swept up by the Slumlords of Lower East Quincy. The leader, Swarmface, gave her the name Dumbstruck. Powers Super strength: The serum she took augmented her strength and enables her to lift in the vicinity of two tons. Enhanced vitals: Her body can survive for weeks with little to no food and she can still function at near peak efficiency. Energy resistance: Dumbstruck is resistant to cold and can resist arctic temperatures. Weaknesses: The use of power slowly depletes her IQ. |
