He was in school when a bully started picking on a friend of his. Neither his friend nor himself were big enough to stand up to bullies and they often got picked on. But that time, something changed. As the bully started beating his friend, T.R. could feel the rage and the pain as if it had been inflicted on him. As he explored the sensation, he found that he could latch onto the feeling and managed to drive it away, but the feeling did not just vanish, it was redirected. The bully screamed in pain. Thinking his victim had just fought back, he decided to teach him another lesson and proceeded to kick him. His victim winced as he waited for the blow but before the kick could connect, the bully cried out in pain once more. He had felt the pain as if he had kicked himself. Unsure of what had happened, he ran off confused. This sort of things happened a few more times and T.R. wasn't sure what to make of it, but as time went on he started to feel overwelmed by the experiences which were becoming more intense. He confided in his mother and she took him to see a doctor. After running tests it was determined that T.R. was a empath. He could feel the emotions of others and manipulate them, but there was much pain in the world and the constant onslaught of emotions was taking a toll on him. The doctors gave him meds to help damper his power. After that, T.R. managed to live a normal life and finished high school then college. He had almost forgotten about his powers, but when the war broke out, he was drafted. While he was in boot camp he got pulled from his company and was told they had other plans for him. Days later, a man named Dr Frost came to see him. He sat down with him and told him that he knew about his abilities. The government had known about them ever since his doctor had sent them his report, but until now, it had seemed safer for everyone if T.R.'s abilities had remained contained, however, now with the war on, it was time to use this power for Good. Dr Frost informed him that he was being transferred to a new secret program called the All-Winners Society. Once under the supervision of the best in the field, T.R. was slowly weaned off his meds and taught to control his power. Since his ability enabled him to eclipse others' emotions by placing his own, he took the name Doc Eclipse. Powers Empathy: Doc Eclipse has empathy powers that allow him to influence people's emotions. He can instill fear in them or even love. He can soothe their pain by making them feel joy and has the ability to make them feel the pain they inflict on others. His powers of empathy work better on single individuals but can also be used on groups as well, although the effort is exaustive. Weaknesses: He is a normal human with no significant protection. |
